About the Artist

“My mom's an artist” excitedly said Darby, Leslie’s daughter, to a passerby. Her childrens’ delight is the inspiration and motivation for the art created by Leslie Lehman. A self taught artist, yoga teacher, and stay at home mother of three, Leslie aspires to share her whimsical visions with a wider audience. Her portfolio includes acrylic paintings and sea glass marble mosaics.

Originally from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Leslie received a BS in chemistry at Roosevelt University. She then went on to obtain a Masters degree from the University of Florida. Leslie left science to raise her children and revisited painting to create unique pieces for her children’s rooms and home.

Art for all ages should be something that aides the imagination on a journey to a different world or reality and allows the viewer to see something in a different light. Art allows you to find yourself lost in the vision that was created. Leslie hopes to create pieces that elicit this inspiration.

She hopes to attract a wider audience by forming her own business and web site, www.YoungHeartArt.com, to market her line of artwork. She established this business in the latter half of 2005 and has been shown in galleries in Phoenix and has featured her work at art fairs in Tucson and Tempe, AZ. Leslie and her family relocated to South Carolina in early 2008 and she is excited to create art in her new home.
